Dental checks

Your pets dental hygiene is an important part of owning a pet and can often go unnoticed. Keeping on top of dental care can help to avoid expensive veterinary treatments and anaesthesia and help to get on top of the problem before it becomes uncomfortable for your pet.

With my dental check overs I will carefully examine your pets mouth, teeth and gums, looking for any signs of plaque, tartar, gingivitis, bad breath, any broken or damaged teeth, or any other problems that may require further attention.

Dental disease is extremely common in cats and dogs and pets often carry on as normal despite being in discomfort. Some pets will carry on eating normally despite having painful teeth or gums. Early intervention can help to ensure that any concerns can be addressed promptly.

As a veterinary nurse I am able to advise on how to maintain the best dental health at home, either through regular brushing or a suitable dental product to help keep on top of plaque and tartar build up which will ultimately lead to dental disease. If I identify anything of concern during the check I discuss this with you and advise you to seek further veterinary advise.
